This presentation will share how we have designed and implemented student-centric pre-health strategies, initiatives, and materials that will be useful to you and your students. We will also provide pathway opportunities for students interested in health. Students shouldn’t have to choose between preparing for the workforce and transferring to a university. Associate in Applied Science to Bachelor of Applied Science (AAS to BAS) pathways help students to accomplish both. Arizona State University and partnering community colleges in Arizona offer articulated pathways that allow up to 75 credits to transfer and apply toward a bachelor’s degree. Whether students choose this route from the beginning or return to school with work experience and the desire to advance their careers, these pathways merge the divide between CTE and transfer to meet workforce needs and boost educational attainment.

Presenters: Michael Voss, Dean Of Instruction, Mesa Community College; Kathy Silberman, Program Manager, Community College Engagement, ASU; Tanaya Dempsey, Director Academic Transfer Credit Solutions, ASU

By linking K-12 data to the state's public community colleges and universities, our Postsecondary Feedback Reports (PSFR) Portal is giving AZ schools access to data they’ve never had before. This effort to strengthen the links between high school, community colleges and universities builds upon Arizona's prior efforts to streamline community college to university transfers. By extending this to high schools, we are further strengthening these partnerships in a way that can be a model for other systems. When institutions are able to follow their students' outcomes, they can improve their decision making for future cohorts. When PSFR is used in conjunction with other data sources, educators can have more information about their school’s strengths, challenges and meet the needs of their specific students. In this session we will highlight the creation and expansion of this partnership with our K-12, community college and university partners, how the reports have evolved and improved over time, and several real-world examples of these reports being used to improve our state's education system.
