Tips

Identify schools that interest you

  • Make a list of programs you would like to connect with at the fair so you can ensure that you have time to speak with each program’s representative.

  • Explore programs outside of your first choice graduate program. You may find new and interesting options that can inspire your future career.

Talking with academic colleges

Come prepared to ask questions of the college representatives at their tables. Some examples of questions you might ask:

  • What do you look for in your top candidates for this program?
  • What kind of research and student experiences does your program like to see on candidate applications?
  • Where are your graduates finding jobs?
  • How important are GPA and GRE scores for admission into your program?

What to bring

Bring something you can take notes with, such as a tablet, your phone, or a pen and notebook.

  • Pro tip: When speaking with program representatives, make sure that you are engaged in the conversation and not distracted by your device.
